Good content can still fade
A strong keynote or workshop can lose its shape once the room moves on. Attendees leave with notes, but the energy and insight often blur together. That gap is where many events fall flat.

Leave a visual treat behind
Live illustration gives the room something to follow while ideas unfold.
Attendees can connect it to what they heard after the event.
Your program leaves with a clear record people actually want to keep.
Bring live illustration to the room
Sarah Hackman creates live illustration for keynotes, workshops, conferences, retreats, and presentations. She works at large scale and brings samples from live events, sketchbooks, paintings, and chalk art that show her range. The work fits organizers who care about the full experience, not just the agenda.

Don't ask about my design style.
You care about the details
You can tell when an event has been planned with care. Sarah understands that instinct and works with it, shaping illustration that supports the room instead of distracting from it. She brings professional range, a steady process, and experience working at large scale across painting, chalk art, and live event formats.

You've gotta hear about this muffin...
I realize that's a strange way to introduce myself, but bear with me.
Have you ever had a muffin that was more like dessert than breakfast? This was that muffin.
It was lemon blueberry, and I'll never forget that first bite. Sweet. Tangy. Swangy.
It was the muffin equivalent of walking barefoot across a cold tile floor and into a pool of sunshine. Something you didn't even know you needed—until you got it.
That muffin left an impression on me. (Obviously.) I can't stop thinking about it. I still talk about that muffin all the time... to anyone who'll listen to me. And I could use another one. Like, right now.
I create experiences that do that.
When your strategy is purposeful, your messaging is spot-on, and your design makes people feel things, your audience craves what you offer. And they tell everyone they know about it, too.

"Sarah was a dream find."
(And other nice things clients have said about us.)
Sarah has brought us
insight, new fresh perspectives, wonderful enthusiasm and expertise to our marketing program which has resulted in a bright, new, much improved messaging and marketing approach both internally and with our clients. We are now positioning our clients as the hero of the story and relating to their problems that we are uniquely positioned to solve. It has amazed us at how deeply Sarah has understood the nuances of our business as if she were an actual employee,
and used this understanding to truly drive our client-centric narrative and actions. We are very grateful for her support.

As a writer, design is a mystery to me in every way except this: I know how important it is for a brand’s marketing copy and visual identity to be in lock-step with one another. That’s why when I began working with a start-up business that needed everything,
the first person I wanted by my side was Sarah. Not only does she have unreasonable design talent, but she also has the most gigantic heart. As a collaborative partner, she overflows with enthusiasm, creativity, and integrity. To suggest Sarah “over-delivers" is the most hilarious understatement.
I’d hire her again and again and again.
Kelley Hartnett,
Tall Tree Collective
We first hired Sarah when we were up against the ropes on a tight deadline. She listened carefully to what we needed, approached the project with confidence (but zero ego), and knocked it out of the park.
Sarah is collaborative, relational, and undeniably talented.

Sarah is beyond a graphic designer. She has a strong grasp of the creative process, she has a keen eye, and she’s able to simplify super complicated concepts. She’s also an outstanding communicator and was able to work well with our leadership team.
It feels like I have somebody in my corner.
Seabrook Omura,
Fabtech Water Solutions
We were having trouble communicating our nonprofit’s story in a way that really connected with our audience. Sarah came in with her creativity and passion, took what was inside my head, and got it out on paper.
Now we’re able to share our mission with authenticity and confidence.
Jamie Boiles, DuHope
Sarah is one of those rare designers who can channel someone's vision to craft an incredible final product
to elevate any brand.
David Cawthon, KC Sourcelink
As a graphic designer myself, it’s been hard to find another designer who pays attention to detail like I expect. Sarah was a dream find! She’s
personable, professional, and timely.
